Acceptable student artwork will meet and adhere to the following standards:

  • Students must refer to and draw inspiration from the artistic examples shown in Learning Resources/Adinkra Symbols, Gallery/Tribal Symbols or our Facebook Album.
  • Work must be created on a standard white paper no smaller than 8.5″ X 11 inches
  • Artwork should clearly represent the theme of the contest/project as stated in the contest guidelines
  • All artwork must be hand drawn/painted/designed using the following permitted mediums: Acrylic, oil paint, watercolor, felt-tip pens, soft ball-point pens, Crayola, or any similar medium
  • Mediums NOT permitted: mediums such as pencil or charcoal; computer generated artwork and photocopies

CONTEST
One 1st place and One 2nd place prize will be given for each of the (4) four age categories.
Age group A – 7 to 9 YRS, prizes are $5 & $10, on gift card, e-gift or cash on a cash app.
Age group B – 10 to 12 YRS, prizes are $10 & $15, on gift card, e-gift or cash on a cash app.
Age group C – 13 to 15 YRS, prizes are $15 & $20, on gift card, e-gift or cash on a cash app.
Age group D – 16 to 18 YRS, prizes are $20 & $25, on gift card, e-gift or cash on a cash app.

PROJECT
One 1st place winner of Age group (A,B) & (C,D) will be selected for and awarded a prize.
Project are $30 and $50 on gift cards or cash on a cash app.

GIVEAWAY & SWEEPSTAKES
One participating but non-winning student (from age group A, B, C & D) will be selected for our GIVEAWAY & SWEEPSTAKES happening through the year as seen on our schedule of activities, we will announce the details via our Facebook page. Participants who do not win contests or projects will automatically get an entry. One students’ Member ID will be randomly selected from all the collected entries to win Giveaway and Sweepstakes.
The Giveaway and Sweepstakes are (1) $50-$100 gift card, e-gift or cash on a cash app.

GRAND PRIZE
One student from (all combined groups A, B, C & D) will be selected for and awarded the Grand Prize. Date of Grand Prize – to be announced on Facebook.
Each month where students are WINNERS of either the contests or projects, they receive an entry toward the grand prize. More participation in contests and projects equals to student getting more entries toward the grand prize, more entries mean a higher chance of winning. The instructions of how to submit entries and when to do so, will be posted on Facebook. One students’ Member ID will be randomly selected from all the collected entries to win the Grand Prize.
The Grand Prize is (1) $200-$300 gift card.

ADDITIONAL WAYS WE GIVE BACK TO OUR PARTICIPATING STUDENTS
Any registered student of (Age group D) can take part in our tuition assistance program.
An essay is required to enter.

The Sankofastage Writing & Arts Contests (the Contest/Project) is open to legal residents of CARICOM Nations, ECOWAS and EAC Nations, however, priority will be given to citizens of Ghana and Trinidad & Tobago at a rate of 25% each, totaling to 50% of ALL accepted entries, the remaining countries together will cover the other 50% of entries accepted. We are accepting students between the ages of seven (7) to eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry. Students wishing to enter must be submitted by their teacher who will submit a registration entry for a minimum of three (3) students, up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) students. A student can also enter by having a parent/guardian register them.0
The contests/projects are in no way endorsed, sponsored, or administered by, or associated with, Facebook nor any of our other social media pages. Each contest participant and entrant agree to a complete release of Facebook (and our other social media pages) as they are NOT part of this contest, and they bare no responsibility and liability. All Sankofa Stage and The GoldMind Foundation employees associated with the promotion of the Contest/Project, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising, and promotion agencies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible to enter our Contest/Projects.
The Contests/Projects, prizes are all sponsored by The GoldMind Foundation, a subsidiary of Elixir Farms, located at #7 Kaybee Oyarifa POBox 8689 Accra N Ghana. Participation in the Contest/Projects constitutes entrants full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein.
Contest & Projects begin on the fifth (5th) day of the month it is advertised, at 12:01 am Eastern Time and ends in that same month on the 25th day of the month at 12:00 am (midnight). Contest/Projects Periods last about twenty (20) days, unless otherwise stipulated at the time of contest promotion. Entries that are submitted before or after the scheduled contest/project deadlines will be disqualified. Submissions will be accepted for the duration of the Contest/Project period utilizing any of the following methods: Our Facebook page @SankofaStageOnline.
Our Contests & Projects are FREE to enter. The method of entry is found on our website, you will click the red REGISTER button at top right, then follow all instructions, also you can access registration by going to our Facebook page @SankofaStageOnline.
There is a Limit of one (1) entry per person, per email address, and per household for the duration of all contests/projects, regardless of method of entry. Teachers however can submit from 3-25 entries under one email address. Entries received from any person, e-mail address, or household, exceeding the stated limitation of one (1) per individual or (3-25) per teacher, will become void. All entries voided or accepted become the property of our Sponsor.
On the 25th day of the contest/project month, the contest/project closes, after which, the Sponsor will select two (2) winners of the stated categories for a prize, these winners are selected by the Sponsor who decides on the best of the entries received. There will be periodic giveaways and prizes through the year and will be held in the months as posted on Facebook or shown on the schedule of events on this website, respectively, these winners are selected by the Sponsor in a random drawing from among all eligible participants of our contests/projects. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will announce and attempt to notify all potential winners via telephone, email, or Facebook message, on or about three (3) to six (6) business days after close of contest/project. If the potential winner cannot be contacted within five (5) days after the date of the first attempt to contact him/her, the Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner in his/her place, from the remaining non-winning, eligible entries. Prize(s) will be delivered within and up to 72 hours after contacting and informing the winners.
The potential winners will be notified by email, Facebook, or phone. Our Sponsoring Office will contact potential winners and ask them to provide or confirm some required information to receive their winnings. Once the potential winner supply’s this information the Sponsoring Office will send the winnings based on the information provided to us. Each potential Prize winner (parent/guardian) will be required to provide and/or confirm this information required for the prize as well as complete, electronically sign and submit a Compliance Form within one (1) to five (5) days of the date of notification of winning, in order to claim his/her prize. Prizes will only be issued after Compliance Form is signed and received by us. If Sponsoring Office is unable to contact the winner, the Office will award the applicable prize to the next entry in line from among all remaining eligible entries. Only two (2) alternate drawings will be held, after which the prize will remain un-awarded. Prizes are ready to be issued approximately 72 hours after winner is determined, however this may be delayed if the Compliance Form is not received in a timely manner.
By accepting any (non-participatory) aide/donations from our Sponsor and, also, by participating in the Contests/Projects, teachers/parents/students/entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, and any/all of their respective affiliates, and any other companies associated with our Contests/Projects from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contests/Projects or receipt or use of the prize (including any travel or activity related thereto), including, but not limited to: (a) any technical errors associated with the Contest/Projects, including lost, interrupted or unavailable Internet Service Provider (ISP), network, server, wireless service provider, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone, cellular tower or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties; (b) unauthorized human intervention in the Contests/Projects; (c) mechanical, network, electronic, computer, human, printing or typographical errors; (d)application downloads, (e) any other errors or problems in connection with the Contest/Projects, including, without limitation, errors that may occur in the administration of the Contest/Projects, the announcement of the winner, the cancellation or postponement of the Contests/Projects and/or the processing of entries application downloads or in any Contest/Project-related materials; or (f) injury, death, losses or damages of any kind, to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrants participation in the Contests/Projects or acceptance, receipt or misuse of the prize (including any travel or activity related thereto). Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Contests/Projects, and in no event shall the entrant be entitled to receive attorney’s fees. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contests/Projects. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
Each entrant agrees that any, and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Contests/Projects or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Ghana. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrants’ rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Contests/Projects, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Ghana, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Ghana.

To request the names of winners you must make a request only after the Contest/Projects close date (dates are listed on schedule section of website). This request must be sent via email to contests@sankofastage.com. You must clearly state the Contest/Project month in question in the subject of the email. Example: Request for August contest winners or Request for July Project winners. SankofaStage.com and The GoldMind Foundation reserves the right to amend, alter, change, modify or delete the information found on its website and its affiliated social media pages, at any time it deems fitting to do so.
